Welcome to my 3D printed Art! I'm 3D artist and designer Valeriya Promokhova.
Here you will see my 3d sculptures I designed for 3d printing in nylon, steel and silver.

This models were created in Palo Alto, California, USA in the fall of 2011 using Zbrush4.2 and printed by on-line 3D printing service company - Shapeways.com located in Holland.

3D printing creates real, solid objects one layer at a time using digital data of 3d model. 3D Printing is a form of additive manufacturing technology where a digital three dimensional object is created by laying down successive layers of material. Industrial 3D printers are made by companies such as Objet Geometries, Stratasys, 3D Systems, EOS GmbH, and Z Corporation.

Many companies such as Shapeways, Sculpteo and Ponoko offers an on-line 3D printing service. People upload their own 3D designs to the company website, designs are printed via industrial 3D printers and then shipped to the customer.

Plastic (nylon)
Plastic objects are made on a 3D Systems Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) 3D printing machine. SLS is an additive manufacturing technique that uses a high power laser beam to fuse small particles of plastic layer by layer into a mass that has a desired 3-dimensional shape.
Minimum wall thickness for this technology is 0.8 mm and the minimum size of visible details on the model is 0.3 mm.

Stainless steel
Models made in stainless steel are printed in stainless steel powder that is infused with bronze.
The minimum recommended wall thickness for Stainless steel is 3.0mm and minimum detail size is 1.0mm.

sterling silver
Wax 3D printing and lost wax casting are used to build your design when using this material. The models are 3D printed in wax, which is then replaced by molten silver.
